TJEP QUICK-FAST® - Installation Tips
Wood Species
|
TJEP QUICK-FAST® is suitable and recommended for all softwood species (coniferous) - e.g., pressure-treated wood, brown-impregnated wood, pine, douglas, thermally treated wood, Siberian larch, and spruce. The wood density should be less than 700 kg/m3, and the moisture content of the wood should not exceed 18%.
Please note that TJEP QUICK-FAST® cannot be used for hardwood!
Avoid nailing into knots on both deck boards and joists as it may cause the nail to curl up. If in doubt, consult your decking supplier and/or ensure proper acclimatization. |

Installation of the First 2 Terrace Boards

With TJEP QUICK-FAST®, the first two terrace boards along the wall should be mounted on double joists (spacers) as they cannot be directly attached to the joists due to the angle of the bracket. |
Mount the deck boards on the spacers and then slide the boards into place. Finally, screw or nail the spacers securely to the joists. |

When installing deck boards with TJEP QUICK-FAST®, a minimum spacing of 6mm is recommended to ensure proper ventilation and water drainage. For more information, refer to TRÆINFORMATION publication TRÆ 74 Wood Decks and the decking distributor's instructions. |

Nice to Know - TJEP QUICK-FAST®
It's important to be aware of the possibility of squeaking noises that may occur due to both weather conditions and the natural movement that wood undergoes.
Wood is a living material that reacts to changes in temperature and humidity. These changes can cause the wood to expand or contract, resulting in squeaking noises. It's a natural characteristic of wood and should not be a cause for concern.
To minimize the risk of squeaking sounds and achieve a solid and durable construction, it is recommended to follow the method shown in the video. It's also important to choose appropriate high-quality wood materials that are suitable for outdoor use and can withstand the natural movements of the wood.
